What is the difference between NCR’s CEN L and CEN 1?
NCR’s CEN L has always exceeded the requirements of the CEN L standard and provided a level of security close to CEN 1. Unlike the competition who use steel bodies (UL291) for their CEN L safes, NCR has always offered superior security with a CEN L safe with door and body of composite construction.
NCR’s CEN L and 1 safes are externally very similar and have the same weight and dimensions. We are now moving to full CEN 1 as NCR believes this to be the appropriate security level for locations that do not require the high security of CEN III and CEN IV. This assures our customers that we are genuinely offering security that exceeds the CEN L and UL291 products from our competitors.
