In one of the bank branches, Cassette “1” magnets were mistakenly placed in the format of Cassette “3”, while containing higher value banknotes. The machine considering two cassettes with the same ID, to be of one type, has dispensed the banknotes from both cassettes and the same resulted in a big contradiction. The bank is responsible for the mistake, but the question is that in such situations that there are two type Cassettes “3”, which one bears the priority? Is it the upper cassette to be emptied first and then the lower one? Or, random selection is to be made? In the Journal, there is some references as to the number of banknotes, but do these numbers refer to the number of banknotes from each type or in each cassette? Apparently these numbers, concern the number of each type of banknotes. If so, is there any possibility to find a log (e.g. in MergedTrace) which makes it clear how many banknotes have been dispensed from each cassette?

My question is whether we can find through DEBUG LOGs the number of banknotes dispensed in a transaction from each cassette or not. The type of each notes is recorded in Electronic Journal, but how can we find which cassette it is dispensed from if two cassettes are the same in type? Aren’t these logs saved anywhere? Is there anywhere we can find exactly to which physical cassette the dispense command has been sent? The bank claims that in Wincor Nixdorf machines, it is the physical cassette saved in Journal, not the type; and if they have made a mistake in defining the value of the cassettes, they can find how many notes have been paid from each cassette by checking the Journal. Is there really any difference between NCR and Wincor Nixdorf in this regard? Is there any difference between the two machines in terms of NDC protocol? Is there any option in AANDC menus in order to set it like Wincor Nixdorf cassettes?
