P86 Elo TouchScreen

Hi!

We have got some NCR P86 with Elo Touchscreen.

My common error that happens is it stops working the touch screen on one side.
We try to calibrate the touch screen but not corrected.

Why this problem might be due?

When the problem occurred? Initially everything worked correctly?
When touchscreen stops working? In wich moment? Until this moment, touchscreen worked?
You have tried to calibrate from Supervisor?
Maybe you have a problem with drivers?

When I go to service request the touchscreen is wrong.

I calibrate with supervisor option, that it shows in screen the calibration app, when I ам touching right side, this not work correctly,

Exist some repair that not require replace the item?

To understand what happens, it would be good to have M_Status and M_Data of Touchscreen error, something like this:

M_STATUS:
00 No error
03 Hardware error - Touch screen controller hardware error
04 Not calibrated - Touch screen has not been calibrated

The M_DATA returned if M_STATUS is 03 (Hardware_Error) are:
Byte 0 - Touch screen error code (Hex)
00 = No error
03 = A/D converter error
04 = Failed beams detected
05 = Communications error (controller/frame interface error)
06 = Weak beams detected

TROUBLESHOOTING
The controller board has one green Light Emitting Diode (LED).
Following power up, the controller performs a short self-test during
which the LED remains lit. After the test the LED flashes about
once per second to indicate normal operation. During normal
operation, the LED will light continuously while the touchscreen is
being touched, then return to the normal flash rate. The LED will
also stay lit without a touch if the touchscreen or cable connecting
the touchscreen to the controller board is disconnected or faulty. If
communication between the host and the controller board has
failed, the LED will flash at a faster rate than normal, about two
times per second.

If you have Exterior Touch Screen, you can try to adjust sensitivity or/and cursor offset

hi,

we had the same issue, solved with some newer driver update for touchscreen, right from Elo site as I can remember.
if you want I can search for the driver, if that is your problem (as it seems).
